So if you know me at all, you know that I'm quite the car buff lately. To give you a sense of what my "money is no object" garage would look like I give you "Mr. Smith's Ideal Garage".

Car #10 Ferrari 575 Maranello

Starting off with a bang, this hot little Italian screamer came out in the mid 90's and while it is not the fastest thing that Ferrari has ever made, it has always held a place in my heart as being one of the most nimble and planted front engine cars Ferrari ever made... until the 599 that is.

Car #9 Audi TT Coupe

4 wheel drive: Check. Biblical amounts of power: Check. Weighs less than an cricket: Check. Looks like a shoe: Check.

Car #8 1981 DMC Delorean

Yes yes, Back to the Future was a great movie. But did know know that with a 2.8 liter engine, that car was more likely to time travel than reach 88mph on anything other than a salt flat. Still since its made of mostly fiberglass and stainless steel, at least you wont need to worry about corrosion. Unless there is a lot of cocaine in the door panels, which if you buy one used, is almost a guarantee.

Car #7 Mercedes SL300 Gullwing

Ever wonder what it would be like to go 150mph in a car built in the 50's? So did Mercedes. This car was miles ahead of the nearest competition leading in no small part to the fact that it was the first production car to feature fuel injection. It's shame they hadn't invented ABS yet, as the car is also known by another name. "The Widow maker"

Car #6 1968 Lamborghini Miura

A garage wouldn't be complete without a Lambo in it, and this is the one you must have as a collector. While this isn't the greatest car to drive, far from it. Barring the fact that the gas tank was over the front axle making the car "slosh" around corners. Its carburetor also had a habit of spitting fuel on the hot engine causing it erupt in flames. I don't believe they are designed to be "External combustion engines." That being said its about the prettiest car ever made and that's why it made my list.

Car #5 Bugatti Veyron

Car #4 E-Type Jaguar

This is the most ludicrous car on the list, its easy to say that the e-type is a caricature of the modern sports coupe, but you can't deny the statement it makes when you drive down the road. "No I'm not compensating for anything! Shut up!"

Car #3 Mercedes S-Class

Want to find out what a new car is going to be like in 15 years? Buy an S class today. It was the first to have stability control, the first to have air bags the first car and seat belt pretensioners. Currently the new s-class offers such features as in car surround sound, digital television, sat nav, smart braking technology, even the dashboard is a high def television display. The future is now! At least in Germany it is.

Car #2 1967 Shelby GT500

Ok, Ok, Nick Cage nearly killed this thing for me in Gone in 60 seconds, but their really is no denying how ridiculously cool this car is. It's styling goes so far beyond aggressive, it looks like it's bursting through someones chest, but without all that nasty screaming.

Car #1 Ariel Atom

Jeremy Clarkson has sold me on this car. The specs in brief. The car has 300bhp and weighs less than a ton. It can go 0-60mph in 2.4 seconds. That's faster than it takes to say Antidisestablishmenttarianism! It corners like its glues to the track and costs less than $60,000. For comparison the Veyron costs 30 times as much. Following along from my previous post, this new technology allows users to interact with a surface using multiple points of contact simultaneously, this allows users to manipulate a virtual space in a way that a cursor or a simple touch screen could never do. Microsoft is also developing a similar technology for use with surfaces such as counter tops and tables. In a word, neat.

While awesome, this is NOT a touch screen.

Some new technologies are coming down the pipe that are really going to change how we interact with the information available to us. First a group of scientists have developed a technology that renders and displays 3d images in a 3d space. There is only one *slight* problem. In order to display the image in 3d they require spinning a metal mirror at over 15000 rpm. (About the speed of a Dremel multi tool but 1000 times bigger) So don't expect a touchscreen model any time soon.

Here are some simple instructions to place a Flash link in your blog.

Step 1: In order to display the file on the blog you will need to host it on a secondary webhosting site. I recommend http://www.imageshack.us/ it's free though the front page can be slow to load.

Step 2: Once you have the file posted simply select and copy the web link for the file (it is at the bottom of the page on imageshack.

Step 3: now just take the link and post it on your blog! You may want to associate it with an image of the flash file in order to maximize effectiveness.

Blog Assignment

Students are asked to make sure their blog meets the following criteria. Students must maintain their blog until June 3. At which time they will be evaluated on the following:

- The blog contains 1 post per school day minimum

- Each post has a minimum length of 50 words.

- The students has commented at least 3 times on other students' blogs per day.

- The blog contains at least 3 content items on the side of the page.

- The blog has a custom title made by the student in Photoshop.

- The colour palette of the blog has been modified from the template.

Well it happened again, 2 days before the launch of GTA 4 my 360 bricked for the second time in less than a year.

I'd love to know the actual figures regarding the failure rate of the 360. Because for me personally it's 100%.

China: 40,000 dead, 5 million homeless : AP

According to the Associated Press, the deathtoll from the earthquake in China has topped out at 40,000 people.

What is suprizing is that China is accepting aid from foreign countries, something the country has had difficulty doing in the past. Like in the 1976 Tangshan Earthquake which claimed the lives of approximately 242,000 people.

Hopefully the aid can get there in time to save more lives.
